Welcome to Weekly Round-Up No. 26! This week we feature debut releases by FLOAT, Shefali, Other Ever and Talkboy. Enjoy the music!
FLOAT – Watch
A dark and hypnotic debut by new London based band FLOAT! The band take their influences from post-punk bands like Joy Division and Echo and the Bunnymen. Their sound is dark, haunting and pulsating. “Watch” is about watching the downfall of earth and mankind. We also love the intriguing music video with a computer spewing the lyrics at a confused youngster. Stunning!
Shefali – Let U Go
Impressive R&B debut by Californian singer-songwriter Shefali. “Let U Go” is about realizing you have to end your relationship, because it doesn’t work although the love is still there. The song has a professional production with contemporary trap sounds and beautiful synth wooshes, and is driven by her amazing vocals.
Other Ever – Human
Young singer-songwriter Jake Spencer from Michigan debuts with a selection of four songs that range somewhere between dreampop and and synthpop. Our favorite is the title song “Human”.
Talkboy – Mother
New indie rock 6-piece from Leeds, UK. Their debut song “Mother” is about realizing you don’t have to live up to your parents’ expectations. The song has catchy melodies and jangly guitars. We love the a positive vibe!
