Welcome to Weekly Round-Up No. 22! This week we feature debut releases by Lynda, Lo Lytes and Liv Miraldi. And we review the new single by STIKS. Enjoy the music!
STIKS – Get Down
Chelmsford rock/hip hop duo STIKS present their new single “Get Down”. Their beats are getting slicker and their raps fiercer. With their sound somewhere between Fatboy Slim and Beastie Boys they are slowly gaining more and more attention. These are the best party beats to forget the divided world around us: “The world is going crazy (…), I just wanna see you get down”. Get down! G-G-GET DOWN!
Lynda – 100 Degrees
Drifting away with Lynda‘s summery debut single “100 Degrees”; the perfect temperature for slow, dreamy, 80s inspired electropop! The duo of Youcef Khelil and Russ Harley recorded this gem in their home studio, and are now bringing their sonic sunshine to the world. Pure bliss.
Lo Lytes – Losing My Mind
A celebration of good old wild times: Lo Lytes‘ debut single “Losing My Mind”. And how best to celebrate? That’s right, with a catchy disco-fueled summersong! It’s the perfect soundtrack for your beach and pool parties. But it also works on the dancefloor, thanks to the recurring deep bassline. We just can’t help dance and sing along to this tune, and so will you. All summer long.
Liv Miraldi – Undertow
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Liv Miraldi debuts with a classic sounding R&B-pop song. “Undertow” is about accepting lose of control in life events. The song is incredibly well-produced, including a break at 2:08 which is a beautiful sonification of struggling with an underwater current. Very impressive debut.
