Welcome to Weekly Round-Up No. 31! This week we review debut releases by Is Bliss and Ndella. Enjoy the music!
Is Bliss – Ocean Blue
“Ocean Blue” is the debut song by Is Bliss from Portsmouth, UK. It’s a six-minute long psychedelic trip which features hazy guitars, dreamlike vocals and a sitar. It reminds us of 60s acid rock, but it also has a unmistakably modern groove to it. If you told us this was a lost track from Primal Scream’s “Screamadelica” album, we would have believed you. A pure psychedelic pop song that has all the ingredients to be future classic!
Ndella – Gone
This week indie label 37 Adventures released their compilation album Odd Numbers, with old and new songs. One new song is standout track “Gone” by the unknown Ndella. The song is a haunting ballad that starts out with just piano melody and Ndella’s incredible soulful vocals. The song builds by adding a new layers at different times, with amazing production by Cicely Goulder from Kaleida. This emotional song will grab you by the throat.
