New Single SAFFARI

SAFFARI

The band started in 2012 as SAFARI, and have created a name for themselves in their home country Chile. But with a name like Safari and a debut single titled “Lights” (2015) you’re hard to find on the internet. That’s probably why the band put the extra F in their name, only a few months ago. It had a lot of consequences.

We Are SafariMainly because their debut EP “Ladies And Gentlemen… We Are Safari” was just released in October on major online music platforms like iTunes, YouTube and Deezer. They retracted everything, and the songs are now nowhere to be found. Their new one “Following The Sun” wasn’t part of their initial selection, so we take it that it is a completely new track they have been working on.

The song starts very uncommon: with a hammond organ! It immediately sets your mood to ‘sunny’ and the track will keep it there. The song is sundrenched with glimmering synths and a catchy whistle refrain that will stick in your head. It’s uptempo electropop and has a great groove, similar to the style of Passion Pit and Ra Ra Riot. The sound is strengthening it’s positive message: choosing for yourself again, instead of losing yourself in a relationship.

“I’ve tried to run away, with you and leave myself. This time I’ll stick with me instead.” […]  “I am walking on my own. Following the sun.”

It may seem early in the year to release a potential summer hit, but we think this song will slowly grow on people, just in time for summer. Hopefully there will be a lot of exposure, because this song and the band deserve it. We can’t wait for more songs! Maybe the debut EP will get a re-release soon. Until then we will follow the band in the sunshine they created with their song!
