Welcome to Weekly Round-Up No. 46! This week we feature debut releases by Loma, Dawson Reeve, CIRO and MiLD JOY. Enjoy the music!
Loma – Black Willow
Loma is the project of three experienced musicians (members of Shearwater and Cross Record), and it shows! Their debut song “Black Willow” is a musical existential experience. The song drifts slowly, but with an incredible tension between the present calm and exciting things to come. Even the music video is meditative and magical. Almost dreamlike.
Dawson Reeve – Circumstance
Singer-songwriter Dawson Reeve from London, UK debuts with an introvert electropop ballad, which balances perfectly between the electronic and acoustic.
CIRO – The Two Of Us
And more music from London! CIRO is a duo that focuses on vocal harmonies combined with a simple, yet effective electronic background. This makes their music spacious and emotional. Our favourite song of their “Modes” EP is “The Two Of Us”.
MiLD JOY – Blurr
MiLD JOY is the musical project of Australian duo Greta Stanley and Tristan Barton. They created the contemporary sounding electronic pop single “Blurr”. Loads of electronic effects, samples and glitches make this a surprising listen. But there is an emotional undertone, mainly due to the intimately close vocals. Something special!
