Weekly Round-Up 30

Welcome to Weekly Round-Up No. 30! This week we feature debut releases by SAILEJosh McGovern and Imitating Aeroplanes. Enjoy the music!

SAILE – Dreaming Of

That first dance with your new lover, that’s the sound of SAILE‘s debut single “Dreaming Of”! This new band from Los Angeles reflect on that first love anticipation, in a nostalgic and joyous song that holds somewhere between indiefolk and dreampop. We dance for the feeling!

Josh McGovern – The Devil Below Me

When you listen to Josh McGovern‘s debut song “The Devil Below Me”, you can hear the pain in his voice. The lyrics are about personal changes, and you feel almost uncomfortable listening to them, so incredibly intimate is his performance. His Nick Cave-like vocals and his aching humming in a blues/folk setting are making this debut hauntingly beautiful.

Imitating Aeroplanes – Hourglass

The Norwegian duo of Tord Øverland Knudsen (The Wombats) en Marius Drogsås Hagen (Team Me) have been writing songs together since childhood. Now they are finally releasing them as Imitating Aeroplanes. Their debut “Hourglass” is a catchy indiepop song with a light psychedelic undertone. Delightful debut!
