Weekly Round-Up 50

Welcome to Weekly Round-Up No. 50! This week we feature debut releases by R.W. Jackson and Andreas Moss. And we review the new singles by Patternist and Jon Parks. Enjoy the music!

R.W. Jackson – I Can’t Stop Thinking Of You

R.W. Jackson himself calls it a demo, but to us it’s a fully accomplished song. Jackson’s haunting vocals add to the mesmerising, slightly dramatic piano melody, making this an emotional, intimate pop ballad that will bring tears to your eyes.

Jon Parks – I Don’t Want To Fight Anymore

American-born Canadian singer-songwriter Jon Parks has released an album about 10 years ago. Now he is back with the excellent debut EP “Mercy”. He combines reflective lyrics with pleasant musical arrangements. He is spired by Belle & Sebastian among others, and you can clearly hear their influence. Beautiful chamber pop.

Patternist – When The Lights Turn Low

Patternist is a solo project from singer Gabe Mouer from Portland, USA. His new EP “Give It Up” is upbeat and catchy, and celebrates youthful energy and romanticism. He combines poprock (similar to The 1975) with fresh synthpop (like St. Lucia) and creates a timeless sound. The uplifting and melancholic song “When The Lights Turn Low” is our favourite.

Andreas Moss – Think About You

The Swedish Andreas Moss debuts with a mix of neosoul, electronica and even some surprising and playful trap breaks. His soulful vocals are the real standout. Great first single!
