New Single Lil Silva

lil silva profile

Lil Silva is UK DJ and producer Tyrone Jermaine Carter. He started about 8 years ago by self-releasing his house tracks on vinyl. His earliest “Seasons b/w Funky Flex” is now highly collectable. The minimal house tracks feature metallic percussion and grime basslines, and already show characteristics of his later productions. After several more 12″ releases, he joins the Good Years label in 2011, which will lead to a more diverse approach, including guest vocals.

lil silva patience epThe first release on Good Years is The Patience EP. Sampha (main vocalist for SBTRKT) delivers vocals for the song “On Your Own” which sounds more mellow than the EP’s house tracks.

The Distance EP (2013) features Sampha again, and also Rosie Lowe on “No Doubt“. The song is another great mellow dance track, and the whole EP seems less hard edged than earlier productions.

lil silva mabel epIn 2013 BANKS joins Good Years and Lil Silva produces several of her tracks. They collaborate on the amazing “Work“. BANKS provides vocals on Lil Silva’s 2014 Mabel EP, and he moves into pop territory.

And now there is his new one “Lines”! The song balances neatly between a dance track and a pop song, and it suits on the dancefloor as feature, as well as in a chill area as background music. Not to say that it is lounge music, but it has a smooth chilled atmosphere. The song starts with a slow build featuring his sampled vocals. The production is very spacious with a lot of different glitch sounds. It’s textures and warm bass make the track very deep and hypnotic. The song is a huge step forward in becoming a star producer for pop artists, as his co-production with Mark Ronson for Adele’s “Lay Me Down” already suggested.

“Lines” is the first track of his forthcoming EP “JIMI (Journey Inside My Imagination)” which will be released on May 6th.
